Happy Pride Month! This June marks the 51st anniversary of the Pride parade that took place in 1970. In celebration, Karat is hosting a special episode of Real Talk: Diversity in Tech, dedicated to uplifting LGBTQ+ voices, celebrating the culture & also supporting and acknowledging LGBTQ+ rights and experiences across the tech industry.
Since 2017, Karat has hosted Real Talk as a way to empower and shed light on underrepresented communities within tech. This month, we’re thrilled to continue this series and learn from outstanding leaders and members of the LBGTQ+ community in tech with a session moderated by Roz Francruz-Harris and panelists Kaishon José Holloway, Rafael Williams, and Cha-Cha Figueroa.
Come to Real Talk to celebrate, listen, and learn
Portia Kibble Smith, Director of DEI at Karat, founded the Real Talk Series with a simple objective: create a free and open space for leaders and innovators to reflect on their experiences and reveal what companies can do to create inclusive cultures. To date, we’ve worked with Dropbox, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Indeed, Convene, Snapchat, and Airbnb to develop Real Talk: Diversity in Tech events.
Check out our recent Real Talk: Diversity in Tech this past March for International Womxn’s Month.
This month, our Real Talk panelists come from diverse backgrounds and companies such as Redfin, Zillow, and Gusto. They will cover a variety of topics such as what an anti-racist company culture looks like, what leaders should know about intersectionality, and how to measure inclusion in the workplace.
