Karat today announced the hiring of two executives who will help scale the company. Scott Bonneau will join as Executive Vice President of Product and Operations, and Amy Sennett will join as General Counsel.

Most recently, Scott was VP of Talent Attraction and Data Analytics at Indeed. He spent five years at Indeed–also serving as Chief of Staff of the Engineering team–and was previously CTO at the startup Dosh. Prior to Dosh and Indeed, Scott held a series of engineering leadership positions at BazaarVoice and Google. In this newly-created EVP of Product and Operations role, Scott will scale and further globalize Karat’s Interviewing Cloud – broadening Karat’s range of interviews and architecting the data strategy to enable this expansion so that Karat can grow.

“With his expertise, Scott will evolve Karat into a multi-product, multi-market platform,” Karat Co-Founder and CEO Mo Bhende said. “Scott’s background is extremely unique – he has led engineering, product, and talent acquisition. And he knows Karat very well, having been our client at Indeed, and bringing with him exceptional ideas for what our platform can offer even more customers.”

“I’ve worked at companies large and small – helping them grow their engineering offerings and expand their teams’ capabilities. Karat is such a compelling mix of purpose- and need-driven company,” Scott said. “I was fortunate to work with Karat as a customer for five years at Indeed, so I have a deep understanding of how Karat can enable companies to scale their technical talent. I’m very excited to work with the team and take Karat’s product offering to an even broader array of companies and geographies.”

Amy Sennett joins Karat as General Counsel, overseeing our legal team. Most recently serving as General Counsel of the Security Solutions business at OpenText, Amy will continue building out Karat’s legal framework, enabling the company to accelerate its deal velocity with large enterprises and continue expanding into new markets and product offerings.

“In order to take Karat to the next level, we need someone with extensive legal experience who understands how to scale a company — which is in line with Amy’s background,” Mo said. “Amy’s experience in both marketplace and SaaS companies will make her a great fit, and just as importantly, she is very aligned with Karat values and has an ownership mindset to how she leads.”

“Karat addresses a huge market need and the long-standing challenge of diversifying the field of software engineering,” Amy said. “Karat has such clear product-market fit, and I’m excited to work with the Karat team to continue building a sustainable, strategic organization that is ready for growth.”

Scott spent five years at Indeed, most recently serving as Vice President of Global Talent Attraction and HR Analytics. Prior to Indeed, he was Chief Technology Officer at Wikibuy, Vice President of Engineering at Polyvore, and Executive Vice President of Engineering at Bazaarvoice. Scott held a series of engineering roles at Google, Trilogy, MessageOne, and Lombardi Software. He is a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Most recently, Amy served as General Counsel of OpenText’s Security Solutions business serving SMBs and consumers. Prior to that, she was General Counsel at Catalant Technologies and a senior associate at WilmerHale. After graduating from Harvard Law School and Harvard Business School, Amy clerked in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
