Understanding Talent to Unlock Disruptive Technologies
Mo Bhende and Jeffrey Spector connected on the shared commitment to unlocking opportunity in a world where access to career growth is often limited to where a person went to school, who their friends and family are, or their past work experience.
Through their own experiences and research, the two friends came to recognize that improving the interviewing and hiring process for software engineers, in particular, would connect millions to opportunities and power economic growth. The technical interview itself must be re-engineered. In 2014, they came together to create Karat.
As Karat grew, Mo and Jeffrey recognized related challenges facing technical leaders, who lacked the data and insights to make workforce decisions at the local or global level. Meanwhile, AI began to disrupt technical assessments and the roles of software engineers. With a proven approach to objective, predictive, and enforceable technical evaluations across hundred of thousands of interviews, Karat has evolved to feature AI-native simulations and broader workforce intelligence to support talent decision making.
