Who is a good fit?
The Ignite! course is designed for students and early- to mid-level engineers who want independent structured study plans with weekly in-person support. You should be able to work in a self-paced, asynchronous environment to achieve goals.
You must be a member of Brilliant Black Minds and complete at least one Karat mock interview before enrolling in the course.
What to expect
Through 4 weeks of guided self-study and expert-led group problem-solving sessions, this course is designed to help improve your technical interviewing skills.
Self-paced study modules
Brush up on interviewing best practices and foundational problem-solving techniques with 4 weeks of curated videos, tips, templates, practice problems, and other resources to level up your interview prep.
Live problem solving practice
Once a week, participants will join a live session hosted by an expert engineer. You’ll solve a practice problem together as a group and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Interview readiness
Schedule and complete your next Karat mock interview within 5 days of the close of the course to be paired with a senior engineering mentor, get in-depth feedback, and develop an action plan for interview success!

Exclusive to Brilliant Black Minds members, this course offers targeted resources to help students, early- and mid-career engineers successfully prepare for technical interviews.
Admissions are rolling and new course cohorts start at the beginning of each month. We will notify you via email when your seat in the course is available.
Attendance at the live practice sessions is highly encouraged. Not only will you have a group of peers to help you stay accountable, but you’ll be able to ask questions and get live feedback directly from an experienced engineer who is an expert at interviewing.
The purpose of the course is to help you improve your technical interviewing skills. An interview before the course acts as a baseline for us to compare your post-course interview to. This data helps us determine the efficacy of the program.
Self-paced courses can be difficult to manage because life happens, but setting goals and determining your why are key components to your success. You are enrolling in the Ignite! course to improve your technical interview skills—keep that in mind as you work through the 4 weeks. Establish dedicated study times for yourself to stay consistent and track your progress!
No, your access to Ignite ends on the final day of the course. You can always bookmark outside links and resources, but the course content is only available for 4 weeks. This is to keep you motivated to work through the material in the allotted time.
That depends on the waitlist! If there is space available you can re-enroll but priority will be given to new participants.
After you complete your post-course interview, a coach will review your performance and discuss it with you in a one-hour session. They’ll share actionable tips about the problem-solving you did and work with you to correct mistakes or improve outcomes with hands-on coding practice. After that, they’ll share tips and resources for future study and improvement.
